Our Story
1960-1969
In 1936, Gian Paolo Greci founds the company Imeta in Parma, further to an enriching experience in Sales in a British Company specialized in making tin cans and covers for food applications.
We bring to the Italian market the first tools for seaming, becoming more specialized in the manufacture of seaming rolls, chucks and spare parts for seaming machines.
1970-1979
We increase our product range and we start a partnership with the main manufacturers of seaming machines in the local market.
One of the first projects we worked on was to improve the performance of an automatic seaming machine was a single screw cover feeder.
1980-1989
Imeta is every day more stable and structured, with a bigger plant in the heart of the town, and the business looks to grow in the overseas markets.
1990-1999
In the early ‘90s, Imeta passes in the hands of the Greci’s family completely.
Gian Paolo’s children Monica and Guerrino will later take over the business, bringing further innovation to our technology and improved production methods.
In 1999 Imeta obtains the certification ISO 9001:2000.
2000-2009
Imeta keeps growing and it moves to the new plant in 2005, right outside the town. The site is designed for growth, as new ambitious targets are set to reach: embracing the global market of the seaming industry.
2010-2019
In 2016 Imeta is the only one in our industry who has obtained the AEO certification.
In 2017 we open the American branch Imeta Inc., located in the state of New York, to manage the northern America market with a vast spare parts warehouse.
In 2018 we adapt to a Quality Management System and eventually obtain the ISO 9001:2015 certification.
